Big Bend Trip

Pictures taken during my backpacking trip in and around the Chisos mountains of Big Bend National Park

View along the Emory trail not far from the summit.
This agave harvardiana cluster somehow grows out of a cracks in a huge boulder near Boot Canyon campsite on the eastern side of the Chisos Plateau.
This pinon pine is growing out of the rock on the southwestern cliffs of the Chisos Plateau
The view from the summit of Emory Peak is a breathtaking 360 perspective of the horizon. Emory Peak is the third highest point in Texas.
Found mainly on the Eastern slopes of the Chisos Plateau. This beautiful red and white barked tree grows only at the higher elevations of the plateau.

Dead tree centered in a view off the southwestern cliffs of the Chisos Plateau
Along the trail leading from Boot Canyon campsite to the southern rim. These are some huge, old cedar trees.
