This is the Texas native spider lily found in the ditches in the southeast of the state. Naturally I dug one up and planted it in my garden.

These extremely tough roses where originally cultivated in Wisconsin but where found to be able to take the humid and extreme heat of the south. They bloom and prosper all year with little to no water. A windmill palm is in the background.
